We are opening invitations to any Year 12 student who would like to represent the school at an upcoming MUVI Television debate competition. The competition will host 20 Secondary schools from Lusaka to compete for different prizes and incentives such as scholarships, school materials, cash prizes and hampers.
The debates will be held every Saturday and Sunday at 15.00 and will be filmed live at the MUVI Television studios for broadcast on MUVI Television Bouquet Channel 1 and 2, Topstar Channel 104, Facebook and Youtube on “Ask Muvi Tv”. The plan is to start in a couple of weeks and end on 20th June.
Three (3) Year 12 students will be selected over the next week. Applicants need only email Mr Patterson ,secondsaryprincipal@islzambia.org> and Ms Linda <sec.pa@islzambia.org> between now and Thursday 11th March 16.00. Please indicate “MUVI Television application” in the email subject line. No essay or other details are necessary. Please keep in mind that these competitions can change, so applicants must be able to be flexible with their weekend timings.
Participants will go head to head in a debate over a given motion. Some examples are:
Zambia is a democratic state
Comprehensive Sexuality Education; a benefit or not?
Traditional churches are still relevant
Education is the key to success
Single sex school are more effective than co-ed schools
Covid 19 is a blessing in disguise
Feminism is a danger to Christianity
A parent has the right to choose a career for their child
...and many more
The programme will be held under strict COVID-129 guidelines.
