More reasons to get our students to school for SBL

For the most part, we’ve had a tremendous response to having students and teachers get back to school, with almost everyone returning this week. Anyone who is not feeling well, should of course stay at home, but we are really encouraging students and parents to resist the urge to stay home for the day and access the HBL programme rather than SBL, and here are some more reasons why:

ISL Strategic Themes

As part of our strategic planning process, we will be investigating broad themes connected with the future of education, with the ideas produced feeding into the strategic plan. The themes are:

Campus reopens smoothly

We were all happy to see students back on campus this week. So far things have proceeded smoothly, with reguar classes and no reported incidences of coronavirus. We must all work together to keep our campus safe and open for learning.

First week back of SBL

We have had a great first week back at school!

We reported 75% attendance the first day and since then the number of students attending campus has increased with each passing day. We do have a few students arriving this weekend and I am sure our classes will be full next week with maybe a couple of exceptions.

Board Meeting Update - January 2022

The Board met on Tuesday 25th January. The Head of School and the different Board committees gave updates on the work they have been doing since the last Board meeting in November 2021. School enrolment has continued to increase. Our enrolment is back to what it was, pre-COVID. We currently have 661 students.

Amazing IGCSE Maths and French Results!

Congratulations to all Accelerated Maths students who received their IGCSE results yesterday! We are thrilled to report that 100% of students received an A or A*, which is 25% above the world average (based on 2021 data).

In fact 75% of the candidates managed to secure an A*, which is 45% above the world average (based on 2021 data).

This is the highest ever result in IGCSE Maths in the school's history! These results place us among the top performing schools in Africa and the world! Yet again, I might add!

Is it worth getting vaccinated?

In spite of being vaccinated, I managed to catch COVID and spent Christmas feeling unwell. While it was the worst Christmas ever, I cannot really complain because the resulting illness was not particularly severe. However, I can attest that, even if vaccinated, as I am, you can catch the virus, you can spread the virus and it can make you ill. This raises the obvious question - is it worth getting vaccinated?
