Digital Citizenship

Being a citizen of the digital world......

A growing world with apps and features added on to devices with each passing minute, many of which we are unaware of, yet required to know in order to empower our children and ourselves. I, certainly am one of the digital citizens, constantly trying to keep pace with the growing needs and demands and yet stay safe.

Young children need to be adept at technology, be resilient, be aware, be quick to grasp, be quick to follow, be quick to use; basically, keep up with what is in vogue.  The demands on them are too high! Guidance and awareness of digital citizenship is the need of the hour.

Digital citizenship has been discussed worldwide. The need to adhere to it grows with every hour, especially with the advent of COVID 19 and online learning.

At ISL, digital citizenship focuses students on understanding human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practicing legal and ethical behavior.

Students need to:

a. advocate and practice safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology.

b. acknowledge appropriate knowledge and attitude toward using technology that supports collaboration, learning, and productivity.

c. demonstrate personal responsibility for lifelong learning.

d. exhibit leadership for digital citizenship.

Let us work together with our students and keep them safe:)
