One
of the many IBDP CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) activities that ISL students
are doing is trying to make a better life for those children currently living
with their mothers in the central correctional center (prison). These are
the children of mothers who are currently serving sentences but who are unable
to live with other family members. This is the only life these children know,
this is their home.
As
part of their CAS project, on Friday 8th November, five year 13 students Chaiwe
Sakala, Eric Von Hofsten, Katende Mushimba, Saraphina Banda, and Zak Patterson
visited the center and donated a variety of books and educational toys to the children
as well as health and hygiene essentials to the mothers.
