Every year, Mrs. Trish Anderson organizes the massive job of distributing 300 boxes to orphans from 12 orphanages all over Zambia, in memory of her son Sherman.
At ISL, in Reception for the last 4 years, the parents have been kind and donated items to make up 6 of these boxes. This year too the boxes are going to children at Bethel Orphanage. Bethel is an orphanage for young children located in Chelstone.
Each box contains:
Toothbrush/toothpaste, bar of soap/ washcloth, an outfit of clothing, sweets, a toy, exercise books, writing materials, crayons, ruler, rubber, sharpener, and a pencil case.
This act of giving to those less fortunate encourages young children to think of others at a time of year when many celebrate Christmas.
