The word counselor can mean many different things, depending on where you are in the world. Indeed, even the spelling of the word (counselor vs counsellor...and there's even councilor) differs between countries.
At ISL we have two types of counselors;
Referred to simply as the Counselor, Ms. Beverly Bloem deals with our students’ social, emotional and mental health needs. She is there for students to talk to about whatever may be worrying or troubling them in life. Beverly will also teach many of the PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) classes, supported by the PYP Coordinator in Primary and the Guidance Counselor in Secondary.

Referred as the Guidance Counselor, Ms. Suwilo Namfukwe will guide and assist students and parents as they work their way through the variety of college, university and other options available to them after life after ISL. She will also help with High School subject selections and transcripts.
