Hello and Goodbye

We look forward to welcoming the following faculty who will be joining us in August:

Martin McCutcheon joins us as a mathematics teacher in secondary. Martin is from the United Kingdom and comes with six years of teaching experience.
He holds a Master of Science in economics, a BSc in Economics and a first class degree in Mathematics. He has a Post Graduate Certificate in education and UK QTS.

Michelle Guzzwell joins us as an economics teacher in secondary. Michelle is from Australia and has more than fourteen years of experience. She currently teaches at the British School, Rio de Janeiro where she has been the lead teacher for IBDP economics and examination officer to the senior students. She holds a Bachelor of Business Management, Bachelor of Arts and Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of New South Wales.

Tebogo Tlhapane joins us as a class teacher in the primary school. Tebogo is from South Africa and teaches currently at St Stithians College. She holds a Bachelor’s of Education Degree from the University of South Africa.

Tanja Knodler joins us as a student support teacher. She has more than three years of teaching experience. Tanja is from Germany and holds a Degree in Special Education from the University of Education at Ludwigsburg.

Durba Silam joins us as an English teacher in secondary. Durba is from The Netherlands. She has four years of teaching experience and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from BRAC University, Master of Arts in English literature and culture from Leiden University and a Master of Education from Leiden University. Durba currently teaches as IBDP English A Literature, IGCSE English First language and IGCSE world literature. She is also IGCSE Global perspective teacher.

Chris Lembalemba joins us as a Physics teacher in secondary. Chris is from Zambia and has seven years of teaching experience most recently at Chengelo School in Mkushi. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Education (Physics Major) from the University of Zambia.

Nicole Chijoka joins us as a class teacher in the primary school. Nicole is from the United States and has four years of teaching experience. Nicole has been a teacher at Northeast Yukai School, China. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Saoirse Milner joins us as a class teacher in the primary school. Saoirse is from Zambia and has six years of teaching experience most recently at Lusaka International Community School. She holds a Montessori teaching diploma.

Donald Blondin joins us as our new athletics director. Donald is from the United States and has diverse experience as a PE teacher, head of PE and Athletics Director. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the United States.

Gift Munsanje joins ISL with over 20 years of experience in sports and physical education in Zambia. Earlier in his career, Mr Munsanje was the Sports Development Officer in charge of PE/Sports in schools and in the National Sports Association. He has stood for some time as the General Secretary of the National Sports Council of Zambia. In private education, Mr Munsanje has worked at Chengelo School and most recently as the Head of Physical Education / Sports Department at the Italian School of Lusaka. Gift is an accredited IGCSE Physical Education examiner.
