Loads to blog about this week!
We had the new Primary Principal- Ms. Shireen Appana and her husband Mr. Joakim Valayutham visiting the school over the last couple of days- (from 10th May to 13th May). Ms. Shireen met with the Board, PTA, students, leadership team and faculty and has left for South Africa feeling like she belongs and is already a part of school. She is enthusiastic, excited and eager to begin work in August! The feeling was mutual from the school community and we all look forward to her joining us too:)
On 12th May, our Primary Production entitled Top of the Pops was a great success! The turnout of parents and grandparents was huge and everyone was so happy to be on the school campus. We loved having the parents come in large numbers to support our production and all our students and teachers did a swell job!! Thank you teachers for always working towards making this school a very special place:)
On 13th May, the Year 2's had their Art Exhibition in connection to the organising theme- How We Express Ourselves. There were a variety of art pieces on display completely made by students- paintings, wire art, clay pieces, ICT art, books wrapped with chitenge material and the impact was tremendous! Song and dance are other ways we express ourselves and the children danced and sang and invited their parents to join them. It was a fabulous experience for all of them!
Here are some pictures of the art pieces sold to the parents. The students aim to raise money for Lilayi Orphanage for Elephants. Will tell you how much they made next week!
Stay tuned and keep well:)
