On Monday 16th May 2022, the Student Support Services department held a workshop for parents on Understanding Psychoeducational Assessments. During this time, we covered some of the major misconceptions around what a Psychoeducational Assessment is, explored when to consider having an assessment done for your child, and talked about what the assessment process looks like. Some of the key takeaways were to reinforce that assessments are ultimately a tool that helps in providing parents, teachers, and students with a greater understanding of what unique ways they can be supported through their educational journey, keeping in mind that each and every child has their own unique areas of strength, and areas that they can grow in.
For anyone who would have liked to attend the workshop but was unable to, Suwilo and the SSS team are always available to help answer any questions that you might have around the various assessment options and how they could benefit your child's journey. A PDF copy of the presentation is also available upon request.
