A very busy week in Primary

I wonder how we fit it all in.... but we do :)

We had our Spanish Day celebrations on 17th May. Children had an opportunity in Spanish lessons to take part in competitions organised by the Spanish teacher Mr. Simbaya. They also had a chance to enjoy some Spanish treats- churros and chocolate caliente ( hot chocolate)!

A musical recital facilitated by our music teachers Ms. Chinatsu Hirayama and Mr. Hickey Nkolola took place on Wednesday evening.  A  wonderful evening, with some great pieces of music showcased by our students! The hard work, encouragement, and dedication from students, parents, and teachers were evident (I was told). You make us feel proud with your perseverance and commitment dear students!

Year 5 students had a wonderful assembly this morning where they told us all about their business unit. It was fascinating to hear about entrepreneurs - adults and children who have made a big difference to the world through their vision and critical thinking! Our students through the unit learned about supply and demand, setting up a business, advertising and selling their products. Through sales of their products, they managed to make over KW16,000/- which they have very kindly donated to APTERS- an organisation ISL works very closely with. APTERS will use the donation to make aids and educational resources for students in Kasama who are physically challenged and need support!

Proud of the Year 5 students! Well done:)👏👏👏👏

We continue our educational journey and will keep you posted for more news!

Stay tuned for next week:)
