Notice of school closure

As you may be aware, the Minister of Health has instructed all schools to close on Friday 20^th March 2020 as part of the national effort to control the spread of the virus causing COVID-19. International School will be complying with the Minister's instructions and will, therefore, be closing its campus to students as follows:

Wednesday 18th March	Normal school with students on campus.
Thursday 19th March	Normal school with students on campus. Last day on campus for students.
Friday 20th March	Preparation day for teachers. No students on campus.
Monday 23rd March onward	Distance learning for all students. No students on campus.

The above schedule does not apply to students in Year 11 and Year 13 who are scheduled to write mock exams and, ultimately, final exams. We are working with the ministry to see how to proceed with these students.

In addition, all non-teaching activities are also cancelled until further notice. You may read our original announcement concerning this here.

While our campus will be closed, our school will very much be open using distance learning methods. We are committed to supporting all our students in completing the curriculum during the period of closure. At present, it is not known how protracted this may be.

Our distance learning will be provided along the following lines: Upper primary and above will be based primarily on Google Classroom with some video support; early years will be using a mixture of platforms including Education City, Seesaw and printed material. Additional services, such as Mangebac, will also be in use. I expect this to increase as we move forward with distance-learning. In any case, students will need access to computers and the internet at home.
