Distance Learning Tools & Applications(Covid 19)

Due to the widespread outbreak of the COVID-19 world over, and heeding the important call to Stay Home, we are privileged to host most if not all our tools and applications in the cloud. This means yes we are disadvantaged to sit in the same space and engage our students in a physical classroom, but we are once again privileged to keep our Teacher and Student programs running remotely using our Distance Learning Tools and Applications embedded in our GSuite for Education platform.

Our campus is closed but our classes are still active. To that effect, GSuite has made available to us expanded access to premium features at no additional cost in Meet Conferencing among other long-distance learning tools and applications. The following premium Meet features have been rolled out to us until July 1, 2020:
  • Increased participant limit of 250 participants per video call
  • Live stream a video call (up to 100,000 viewers within a domain)
  • Record a video call
Other Distance Learning and collaborating tools useful during this crisis are as given below
  • Classroom
  • Slides
  • Drive
  • Docs
  • Sheets
  • Internal Websites
  • Calendar
  • Virtual White Board
  • Chat

All of the features above given will allow us to continue working and learning together remotely.

If you are interested in actively following the classwork of your child, at your request we can add you to the specific classes so you can receive automatic regular guardian summaries. You have the privilege to choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and can unsubscribe at any given time.

Parents and Guardians, you can also help complement family learning with supplemental learning content and activities from (Learn@Home)YouTube here.

If you have any questions or need help with regard to the Distance Learning Program, kindly reach out to us via help@islzambia.org.

Regards,

Brian Chimenge.
