Combating the coronavirus

Our approach to controlling the coronavirus has three pillars:

  1. Keep infectious people out of school
  2. Stop the infection spreading in school
  3. Respond effectively to cases that do occur

To keep infectious people out of school:

  • Keep your child home if they feel or look unwell
  • Keep your child home for 48 hours after they feel better
  • Keep your child home if they are a close contact act of someone with the coronavirus

To stop the infection spreading in school:

  • Wear your mask (when you get out of your car, your mask should be on)
  • Keep your distance
  • Wash your hands

To respond effectively to cases that do occur:

  • Keep us informed of coronavirus issues (nurse@isl.sch.zm)
  • Cooperate with our contact tracing and isolation protocols
  • If in doubt, reach out (ask@isl.sch.zm)

As far as we know, we have not had anyone infected at school, and we want to keep it that way. We can only continue to keep our students and staff safe at school when we work together. Parents, staff and students all have roles to play in suppoting our coronavirus control measures; you can read here our COVID quick Reference for Parents.
