We are thrilled to announce the relaunch of our Community Service Programme for Year 10 and 11. This was a huge undertaking which involved detailed planning among key stakeholders at school. I would like this opportunity to thank Mr Mwale, our Community Service Coordinator, for his hard work and dedication which made this happen.
This semester Year 11 students will take part in Community Service where they are involved with various community projects with local schools around Lusaka for one afternoon each week. This semester students will not leave campus or be able to physically interact with our partners schools due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
However, we have made a commitment not to allow the pandemic to deter us from making a positive impact on the community, especially at a time when it is so crucial to lend a hand to one another!
For this reason this year we are thinking outside the box. We have partnered with Tagore International School in New Delhi who have managed to figure out many creative ways to serve the community despite the physical restrictions the virus has imposed on us.
Firstly, our very own Pratham Virani (Year 11) who made this partnership possible by connecting our schools and acting as a student leader for our community service groups.
Secondly, Ms Vedica Saxena from Tagore International School in India, a truly inspirational teacher who reached out and shared their expertise and experience. We hope this will be the start of a strong partnership between our schools!
Absolutely honoured to be a part of your community service through ours. Many congratulations to your school for committing to humanity.
