Mother Tongue Day

An inspiring morning- one that helps celebrate multilingualism!

Parents are an integral part of our school learning community! This morning, we had Moms and Dads share information from their country through various activities- cooking, sharing the alphabet in their mother tongue, playing games, reading stories and others.
Days like these help affirm cultural identity and develop international-mindedness.
"Becoming multilingual is a means through which we deepen our understandings of alternative perspectives and reach out to others. It takes into account the complex reality of our world's diverse socio-cultural contexts."
(Language in the PYP, From Principles to Practice, International Baccalaureate, October 2018)
