Our first Virtual Coffee mornings for 2020 were held last week!
Coffee mornings provide a platform for parents to share their experiences, this time, after the start of the academic year- three weeks into Home-based learning. Though we had few parents joining us, it was good to hear the positive feedback. In this case, I would say Silence is consent and all stakeholders are content with the way things were working. I feel more at ease when I acquiesce with this perspective:)
Home-based learning is gradually taking shape and students, parents and teachers are getting themselves used to the new routine with technology- Google Classroom, Seesaw, Google Meet, etc. We have had emails and personal conversations with parents and students who miss school, but appreciate what school is offering under these difficult circumstances.
Unfortunately, we do not have a date yet when we could reopen and await information from the Government of Zambia. We are all in it together and together we can work to make it a success for our students and us.
Stay well and stay safe. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we need to support you in any way.
