IGCSE Information Evening

A reminder that this year's IGCSE Information Evening will take place on Wednesday 28 April from 18:00 to 19:00. This event will be in person only and take place at the MPC.

As Year 9 students begin their transition to the IGCSE curriculum in Year 10, they will have to make important choices about the subjects they are going to take over the next two years. IGCSE is one of the essential qualifications students will need as it is a prerequisite for applying to most professions and universities. It is also a key step in their preparation for the IB Diploma in Year 12. As such it is important that we provide students and parents with ample guidance about the demands of the course and subject choices.

I highly recommend that at least one parent attend the information evening as this will be the best opportunity to familiarise yourself with IGCSE and ask any questions you might have. Parents who are familiar with the curriculum already are also highly advised to attend as there are many important changes and developments that will be shared. At the end of the evening you will receive the new IGCSE handbook which will contain information about every subject, the syllabus content, assessment structure and key expectations.

Students will then have until Friday 7 May to discuss and finalise their option choices by filling in a form. Of course we understand that these decisions will require careful consideration. If you require further guidance, please feel free to contact me and set up a meeting. I will be happy to offer any advice and assistance.
