Save the Soil movement: call out for student contributions

We have been contacted by a representative of the Save the Soil movement.Save the Soil is a global movement launched by Sadhguru, founder of the Isha Foundation,

Coimbatore, India. The movement’s aim is to address the soil crisis by bringing together people

from around the world to stand up for soil health and supporting leaders of all nations to institute

national policies and actions towards increasing the organic content in cultivable soil.

The fifteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the United Nations Convention

to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will take place in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from 9 to 20 May 2022.

Save the Soil would like to create a wave of letter writing at schools from all over the world and this

African region.  Their aim is to share the voice of school children to world leaders requesting them to

save the soil.  The greater the number of letters they get the greater the weight of the message will be.

Over the coming holiday, students may have time to do some research and write a letter, create a

poster, make a short video, etc., about why they think saving our soil is such an important consideration

for generations to come. Please find attached some artwork and video samples that students can do

to support the movement.

When we get back to school on Monday 25th of April, we will get all the contributions together and

arrange for them to be sent to the organisers.

Who knows where a quality contribution could lead?
