Secondary Mid-Semester 1 Reports

In order to maximize the amount of  face to face SBL (school-based learning) time that students would have with their teachers before the Mid-Semester 1 Report, we decided to extend the Semester 1 assessment schedule until the end of this week.

This means that all students will have their Mid-Semester 1 Reports issued via ManageBac on Monday 26th October, some time after 16.00.

Mid-Semester 1 Student - Parent - Teacher  Conferences (SPTCs) will take place on Thursday 29th October from 14.00 - 16.00.

In order to adhere to the health and safety requirements, teachers will remain in their subject classroom where parents and students will meet them on a drop-in basis, with no advance appointment.

Moreover, in order to maintain fewer number of parents and students coming to school, the meetings will be only for those students who have received a YES for the criteria: "Teacher Recommends a Meeting". This means that parents need only meet those subjects teacher(s) who have indicated that they wish to meet the parents and students. For all other subjects, a meeting is not necessary. Parents of children who have not received a YES, are requested not to come in to meet the teacher(s).

If a parent has an urgent/important reason why they would like to meet any teacher, please email Ms Linda <sec.pa@islzamboia.org>  who will arrange for a teacher meeting at a convenient time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Linda or myself.

Best regards,
Craig Patterson
Secondary Principal

Yr 13's welcome Yr12's into the Diploma programme

Every year Year 12's go on an induction camping trip in the 1st week of school but unfortunately this year due to Covid-19 they had to miss out on the fun yet insightful trip. The main objective of the induction programme is to introduce students to the key information about the IBDP, CAS, ToK, EE and the IB learner profile attributes. This is also probably one of the only times when direct reference is made to the 10 learner profile attributes and all the activities are aimed at stimulating bonding amongst the students and developing an insight into the learner profile attributes
