Year 12's present CAS Theatre Night

When you think of CAS, the first thing that comes to mind is: Self-development. CAS encourages us to use our experiences to grow into well-rounded people.

Our group intends to interact with our community, while simultaneously honing our skills in various fields, to achieve the most out of CAS. Thus, we have decided to work with an NGO called Footprints of Hope, to aid them in achieving their goals by using whatever means available to us. In terms of Service, for us teenagers, the simplest way to assist an organization is by fundraising. The most obvious approach was earning money through bake sales, which we did, although it quickly became tedious. In fact, part of the money to was coming from our parents, thus limiting our own involvement.

While brainstorming at one of our weekly meetings, we realized that many of our group members are talented in the arts - actors, singers, writers, etc. From this, emerged the idea of Theatre Night. A night where we could combine two strands of CAS - Creativity and Service - to put on an array of performances for parents, teachers and students alike. Organizing a large-scale event such as this would prove to be a challenge, however, CAS is all about embracing new challenges. We used the theatrical and musical skills we had on hand to plan a night teeming with incredible performances, produced solely by our CAS group. It was truly an exceptional feat of collaboration, coordination and contemplation.

As with any substantial collaboration, disagreements arose. Nevertheless, our desire to realize our goals allowed us to push past our differences. Watching it unfold, working as a team, was genuinely satisfying.

Each piece of music, drama and poetry, was carefully crafted and organized to provide the utmost enjoyment to our audience. We humbly invite you to watch our self-written and self-directed performances. This project was entirely student-driven, and all proceeds will go towards buying clothes, school supplies and food for children sheltered by Footprints of Hope.

The Yr 12 CAS Group are eager to present:

THEATRE NIGHT!
