Blog info about elections

The beginning of the school year also marks the beginning of the Student Council’s Class Representative system. Being a Class Representative is an opportunity to take an active part in determining a student's own educational experience.

Each Tutor Group will elect a student representative (Class Rep) to promote constructive communication between students and teachers, the management and the entire School community. Class Reps give a voice to their Tutor Group.

There will be speeches given by the Class Rep candidates to their peers in the Tutor Group (not the entire school) next Wednesday 24th August during the pastoral period. Immediately after that, the students of the Tutor Group will vote for their prefered candidate. There will only be one Class Rep per Tutor Group.

Tutors will have all the documentation detailing the selection process and expectations of nominated class reps. Interested students should ask their Tutor for the necessary application forms and take them home to share with parents.

Please encourage your children to take an active role in this process as it is an opportunity for them to exercise leadership and positively initiate change among their peers and our community. Winning is always pleasant, but students all need to learn to take risks, put themselves out there and take on new challenges. No matter what the outcome, they will grow from the experience.

After receiving their information from your child, if you have any questions about the Class Rep election process or responsibilities please contact me.

Many Thanks,

Ms. Kalizya
